The Tarus DHDC deep-hole drilling and boring machine from Megatel primarily is used for drilling and tapping cooling lines and ejector pinholes in injection moulds.
The machine features a separate 50-taper milling spindle in addition to the drilling spindle. The drilling spindle is capable of drilling with standard gun-drill tooling or BTA/STS drills for faster drilling.
It is equipped with a rotary table and a tilting head slide, which enables the machine to perform operations on compound angles, eliminating setup time required to tilt the workpiece. The rotary table can be equipped with an electromagnet, FCS (or equivalent) standardized workholding system or a standard T-slot table.
