AMADA CANADA hosts grand reopening of Quebec Satellite Center

AMADA CANADA's Granby facility spans 50,000 sq. ft. with showroom space of 5000 sq. ft., office space of 10,00 sq. ft. and the rest divided between warehousing, tooling, and shipping & receiving spaces.

On June 20, AMADA CANADA celebrated the grand reopening of its Quebec Satellite Center located at 885 Rue Georges-Cros Granby, QC. The facility spans 50,000 sq. ft. with showroom space of 5000 sq. ft., office space of 10,00 sq. ft. and the rest divided between warehousing, tooling, and shipping & receiving spaces. The facility has been meticulously renovated to serve as a premier hub for the latest advancements in sheet metal machinery and technology.

“AMADA has had the facility here for over 40 years,” noted Peter Burrell, AMADA CANADA COO. “It’s been an integral part not only of our business here in Quebec but also a very key support facility for all of our business across Canada. This event was just the end of a project of a complete renovation of the exterior of the building and the interior offices.”

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Burrell not only thanked staff and those involved in the renovation process, but also the local customers who were in attendance.

“Your high level of engineering skills and your willingness to invest in the newest automation and systems continues to provide the region the competitiveness required to stay ahead,” he said. “With the investment in the building we hope to boost awareness of the AMADA brand and also demonstrate our commitment to this region to both our customers and our staff as we continue to look for ways to improve our support and services.”

Among the highlights of the Technical Center reopening were demonstrations of VENTIS AJ 3015 fiber laser cutting machine, equipped with a 10 shelf auto storage system and the TK automatic part stacking and sorting system; the EGBe 6020 all electric servo press brake with the ATC (Automatic Tool Changer) system, and the latest EGBe full electric servo press brake 80 ton machine without the tool changing system. These advanced machines exemplify Amada’s commitment to providing solutions that enhance productivity, precision, and efficiency in the manufacturing process.

“All of the machines on display have already been sold to shops in Quebec, Ontario, and Manitoba,” said Burrell.

The VENTIS fiber laser cutting machine uses Amada’s Locus Beam Control technology to deliver exceptional cutting quality on various materials. The EGBE press brake offers unmatched versatility and accuracy, while the ATC system revolutionizes tool changing, significantly reducing setup times and boosting overall production efficiency.

More than 70 customers attended the day-long event, getting an opportunity to discuss their future needs with AMADA staff.

“While the manufacturing market in Canada has been steady, there is a focus among our customers on the latest technology, such as automation, robotics, IIoT, and AI,” said Burrell. “For us, we want to position ourselves as the company to come to for the latest in all these categories, so it’s essential that we demonstrate that for the customers and help them determine how they can adapt that technology in their operations.”
