Keyence has released the IM-8000 dimensional measuring system with a rotary unit, which allows for 360-degree measurement capability on both turned and machined parts.
The system also is fitted with a 20-megapixel CMOS sensor and has a new algorithm for stable edge detection.
In addition to standard measurements, such as OD/ID, length, and angle, this device measures symmetry, plane, flatness, cylindricity, coaxiality, and runout, all while delivering easy-to-read data visualizations, including roundness graphs. This makes it suitable for parts with complex geometries.
The integrated probes can also measure features at specific heights or act as an automated height gauge. Available options include a calibrated scale to allow users to perform their own verifications.
