Okuma has released the HJ-400 horizontal CNC lathe, which is built on a one-piece cast-iron base with a horizontal way system and hand-scraped headstock and tailstock mounting surfaces with two-point bearing support.
A gearless spindle reduces vibration and heat, minimizing thermal deformation for maximum productivity, the company states.
Chuck and tailstock controls are located at the front of the machine. A right-discharge, hinge chip conveyor is standard.
This lathe has a maximum turning diameter of 12.99 in. and a standard 10-in. chuck. Rapid traverse (X/Z) are 787/984 IPM.
