Okuma’s 2SP-150H horizontal, twin-spindle lathe offers high metal removal rates in a small space and is suitable for small-part CNC machining, the company states.
The front facing spindles allow easy access to the workpiece and tooling. Parts can be loaded and unloaded automatically by adding a high-speed, 3-axis Okuma gantry loader.
The integral bed and base, cross slide, headstock, tailstock, and turret form a balanced, rigid structure, according to the company. Ball screws generate slideway movement to both axes.
The machine is equipped with a 6-in. (8-in. optional) chuck and 6,000-RPM spindle.
There are no machine obstructions so chips fall directly onto a perforated chip pan, allowing coolant to flow in to the coolant tank. An optional lift-up chip conveyor is available for large machining jobs.
